CLB Levels

The ESL Corner has activities for beginner to advanced ESL learners. Each activity is assigned a level according to the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB). You can find the CLB level under the title of each activity. You can also get a list of all the activities at each level from the drop-down menu under “CLB Levels”. CLB levels go from 1 to 12, which are separated into 3 progressive levels of proficiency:

Stage I (CLB Levels 1-4) – basic
Stage II (CLB Levels 5-8) – intermediate
Stage III (CLB Levels 9-12) – advanced

The Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks is the national standard setting body for the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB).
