The Gardens have several activities such as nature trails, which are open to visitors from dawn to dusk each day, and there are 20 minute guided tours of the gardens early in the season during the Lilac and Rose festivals.

The Gardens have several children's activities. Families may borrow a Discovery Pack, free with admission. The Discovery Packs include activity guides and equipment for exploring nature in the gardens. Other festivals and events usually have family activities as well, such as children's crafts or entertainers. They also offer children's day camps during the summer. Admission into the RBG is $13 for adults, and $10 for seniors and students. It’s $7.50 for children, and children 5 and under free.

In May, Flowering Cherry Trees are in bloom, as well as Orchids, Cacti and Mediterranean plants. Spring wildflowers and flowering spring bulbs are also in bloom. In June many flowers are in bloom including Roses, Iris, Peonies Perennials, Azaleas and Rhododendrons. If you visit the RBG, there is a café for a meal.
